 | 2005 : 2004 : 2003 : 1998-2002 | | | This is the Texas history in a high density form. The real story starts in 2003/04 but there was a time before of course. We abstracted this period of frequent changes and band-finding process in "1998-2003 pre history" section. Since the release of "Primitive Scream" the Texas Funeral story starts to gain momentum. | | | | | | | | Text not fully translated yet, sorry for the inconvinience. | | | A new hope | | 2003 | After Oli hat to move to the north of the country, the band looses their bass player and a very good friend and long time companion. By luck the George Kelly met the band and ever since he's rumbling the lows of the band's sound with his unique finger style technique. The live climax of the year is the "Rock at Chruch" Open Air (Ladenburg/Germany) where the band played in late summer. Recording of a CD is planned. The band decides to go more serious and not only messing around with no goals. Back to the practice room the band pushes to work on new material since december is nearing and studio was booked. Jochen leaves the band because of the amount of pressure and the lack of time. Again, the band had to improvise and as name issues arises (the name RAPTURE is trademarked) they had to rename themselfes for the upcoming release.
The band decided to have a fresh start and left all the inherited burden behind. On December the 8th, recording of the frist official release under the name TEXAS FUNERAL started. |
| | | 2004 - now | TEXAS FUNERAL is born | | 2004 | The band releases their debut EP "Primitive Scream". With a press echo that exceeded their expectations, TEXAS FUNERAL hit the road and played in all major clubs in the region. Along the usual club gigs the band had the opportunity to open for Eisbrecher at the Krone Music Hall in mid April 2004. It was a great show. Unfortunately the band was hit by the unexcpected loss of their singer and frontman Markus, who resigned from his vocal duties because of the workload of his day to day job. The band did fall in a big emotional low and there was little drive to continue. But, as fate happens, Kurz, Aderhold and Kelly decided to go on an look for a new singer.
After a two month search Andre Hoffmann replied to an ad in August 2004. Unfortunately it was a short liasion - he left the band in November. Then Markus dropped by to jam with the band again and they agreed on a more relaxed working schedule for Markus. So, officially Markus is again part of the main line-up. | | 2005 | On July, 6th the band announces a leave of absence. |
